[unix-pc.general] Looking for P5.1 PALs

paul@cgh.UUCP (Paul Homchick) (10/10/89)

The effort of keeping my system from running out of disk space, and
constantly running at five percent free has finally gotten to me.
So, I have taken to collecting hardware.  I have a 3B1, a WD 2010
controller chip, a Maxtor XT2190 drive ($1200 for a factory refurb;
if anyone is interested in the source, let me know), and the P5.1
field upgrade *instructions*. What I don't have is the new PAL, or
a way to burn it myself. Does anyone know of a reasonable source for
these chips, or of an alternative hardware modification to allow the
use of >8 heads? Thoughts of an extra 80 Meg of disk space, just out
of reach, are keeping me awake at night!

I can come up with the pals and blast them. Please email
if you are interested. Cost will be determined by qty of
PALS we buy.
