As suspected my initial order from UPS has taken longer than first anticipated. A week ago I posted that I ordered the first batch of UNIX PC Reference Manuals. At that time I had checks and committments for 50 of them, I ordered 75. Since then I now have committments for 67, and more to come. I do expect the UPS Order to arrive here in Long Island (even with the first snowfall in 55 years on Thanksgiving [10 inches]) either Friday or Monday. I know I asked these to be shipped ground (so my shipping costs weren't too expensive), so it usually takes 7-10 days at the most. None of the checks that arrived here have been deposited yet, as some of you have noticed from the "ref-order@icus.islp.ny.us" inquiry server. I'm waiting for the last possible moment to cash them, and once I do I will proceed in shipping the manuals out. Since I'll probably go over the 75 manuals initially order, I have the opportunity to get more, and I will. If you sent a check, and it doesn't fit into the initial order, there will be a 2-3 week delay before your manual does go out, just be aware of that. There will be a time where I will stop all orders, and probably have to send checks back to the really late stragglers. Thanks to all for making another UNIX PC *group-buy* a success so far. -Lenny -- | Lenny Tropiano ICUS Software Systems [w] +1 (516) 589-7930 | | lenny@icus.islp.ny.us Telex; 154232428 ICUS [h] +1 (516) 968-8576 | | {ames, pacbell, decuac, hombre, sbcs, attctc}!icus!lenny attmail!icus!lenny | +------- ICUS Software Systems -- PO Box 1; Islip Terrace, NY 11752 -------+

This is a pain, but I guess it's the usual crap I have to put up with when dealing with companies and big orders. I called today (11/27), after UPS didn't arrive with my 75 manuals I ordered, and found out for some reason or another that my original order was NOT shipped. Something to do with shipping address inconsistencies, etc. Well I did up my order to 100 manuals, because nearly all of the 75 are spoken for at this point. Now I have about 30 more that I can sell, with about 15 probably spoken for. > None of the checks that arrived here have been deposited yet, as some > of you have noticed from the "ref-order@icus.islp.ny.us" inquiry server. > I'm waiting for the last possible moment to cash them, and once I do > I will proceed in shipping the manuals out. ... Again, I'm not cashing anyone's checks until the manuals are in my hand. Sorry folks for any inconvienence, I'm trying my best here, somethings are out of my control. :-( > > Since I'll probably go over the 75 manuals initially order, I have the > opportunity to get more, and I will. If you sent a check, and it ... Since I up'd my original order by 25, I probably WILL NOT reorder (since I hope to be done with this all by Christmas, I'm going to have enough to worry about during those weeks...) After 100 are spoken for, I'll post again, unless I get a substantial amount more, I'm not going to reorder (substantial=25+...) > Thanks to all for making another UNIX PC *group-buy* a success so far. > Ok, semi-success.. -Lenny -- | Lenny Tropiano ICUS Software Systems [w] +1 (516) 589-7930 | | lenny@icus.islp.ny.us Telex; 154232428 ICUS [h] +1 (516) 968-8576 | | {ames, pacbell, decuac, hombre, sbcs, attctc}!icus!lenny attmail!icus!lenny | +------- ICUS Software Systems -- PO Box 1; Islip Terrace, NY 11752 -------+

I got a call today that all the credit situation with my order has been CLEARED up and the order shipped today. Barring any catastrophies, I should see the manuals at my door on December 7th. Assuming this does happen I will start to ship the manuals out by December 11th. Just in time for the Christmas rush... anyhow everyone should have theirs by the holidays just in time for hardware hacking ... There are 15 more left ... or so. -Lenny -- | Lenny Tropiano ICUS Software Systems [w] +1 (516) 589-7930 | | lenny@icus.islp.ny.us Telex; 154232428 ICUS [h] +1 (516) 968-8576 | | {ames, pacbell, decuac, hombre, sbcs, attctc}!icus!lenny attmail!icus!lenny | +------- ICUS Software Systems -- PO Box 1; Islip Terrace, NY 11752 -------+
