Well, the dreaded scenario has occurred - I think my OBM is hosed. System: 3B1, 3.51, 2M RAM, ICUS 2 disks, no cards, two lines (local polling on ph1, long distance archive access on ph0, aka voice line) Symptoms: attempting to access ph0 from uucp returns "Line dialing failed"; using kermit gets me "can't open /dev/ph0: Bad address" or (once) "can't read character: Bad address" Also, when I call ph1 (I have a getty on it), the speaker is activated on *high* gain, which never used to happen. Solution attempts: reconfiguring lines as install, rebooting, deleting and re-mknod-ing /dev/ph0, powercycling (with a long down time to ensure capacitive decay), and dialing in. Nothing helps. Note that /dev/ph1 continues to function fine. Hope someone can help me on this one - I bought my machine from a guy who bought it from a VAR, and I don't have either manuals or foundation set, let alone Hotline support. --Peter -- Cayman Systems Inc. | peter@cayman.com 26 Landsdowne St. | ...harvard!mit-nc!winter!pschmidt Cambridge, MA 02139 | (617) 494-1999 | -- Speaking for myself.
