i was under the impression that current english usage included
the capitalization of proper names, including place names such
as england, france, scotland, ireland, and the us of a.  this
appears to be a misapprehension (at least according to anton
aylward), for which i apologize if i've caused any anguish.
apparently the current style is after the manner of the late
ee cummings.
