I think there is too much traffic on the net answering other people's questions via netnews. I thought that mail should be used for replies, not netnews. The only time I would use netnews for a reply would be if I could not reach the contributor via mail. I get tired of reading what DSW stands for, what western-in-space Sean Connery was in, and other such drivel. The many replies waste disk space, transmission time, and in some cases, real money. If you are interested in someone else's query, you can always ask them to send you the results via mail. If you agree with me, let me know via mail, NOT netnews.
