A challenge to Emacs implementors: I would like to see a Dired(directory editor)-like interface for reading network news. At top level, you would edit your group subscription list. At the next level, you'd edit the "headlines" of a group's messages, indicating which should be deleted, deferred or read. Of course you could SEARCH for keywords or names of people or sites. At the next level, you'd examine individual messages. Split-screen mode might be used. Special keys could be assigned for AdvanceOneMessage, AdvanceOneGroup, etc. At the bottom level, you'd compose responses to articles. Brian Nixon.
