I have a small STARLAN network consisting of 7 3B2/600's and a 3B2/400. I'm using the 3B2 NAU hardware with a single NEU. (1 MB net) We also have an ISN at this location, and finding that we have a slim-c card, tried to connect the two. What I would really like to do is be able to get a terminal (login) session on one of the 3B2's from an asynchronous (terminal) ISN endpoint. Is this possible? The ISN administration manual says that it is possible to make a connection "from an asynchronous ISN endpoint to a STARLAN endpoint." - if you use the STARLAN Network Connection something-or-other. (I haven't got the manual handy) Has anyone out there in net-land ever tried to do this sort of thing before? I thought that the ISN would expect me to define logical endpoints on the STARLAN network, along with the service-request strings - ie: systema.serve and the service request code NLPS:000:001:1\N\c, such as is used by UUCP. I hoped that the slim-c would be intelligent enough to make a connection to the logical endpoint (picking the correct one by means of some hunt-group-like feature, and ask for the service by sending the service code for me. No such luck. What *CAN* I do with this slim-c card? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, -Vince -- Vincent C.
