[att.sys.unixpc] 3b1 lockup

xf@anuck.UUCP (01/23/88)

This happened on a 2mb, 40mb system running 3.5

It was a complete hang, the LED's on the left
side of the mother board were off, the caps and num lock
keys would not light, AND the reset button wouldn't work.
The screen was as it was when the hang occured (3 windows open).

I finally hit the power switch hoping that a power reset
would cure it, it didn't, same symptoms as the original
hang, but the screen was filled with some ram init pattern,
I assume.

So I took the thing apart and reseated all the socketed devices.
Put it back together and it worked!

The /usr/adm/unix.log has a couple of gripes about spurious level
2 interrupts back in early December but nothing since.

Can anyone shed any light on what might have happened?
