I am relatively new to the UNIXPC and would like some advice and opinions. I have been reading the docs for communications and several things remain unanswered as yet. If I have a telephone line plugged in to line 1 on the back, and want to log in from remote (either a terminal/modem combo or another UNIXPC), how does the autoanswer work? Do I have to do something to tell it to answer? Do I have to turn off my answering machine so the UNIXPC will pick up the line? I haven't had time to test all the possibilities here and thought someone with experience might save me some frustration. I know I need to have a getty running. Would it be better if I have the line plugged in line2? (I have another phone line I can plug in...) Help is appreciated! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: EMAIL: ...!att!holin!doc VOICE: (201)-949-5308 SNAIL: Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733 ------------------------------------------------------------------ /^, , / } _, , , . __/ "Credo quia absurdum" /_./ (_l |/ / /_/ , . . --------------------- | /| / , , , , , Disclaimer: | |/ |/. /| /| , , __, __/ /_ _, __, /_ My opinions do not |___________ / |/ | /_/ / / /_/ / / /_ / / /\ reflect those of anyone I work |__________________________________ for or with, or anyone who does not look like me. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
