[comp.windows.x] quitting

brisco@caip.UUCP (02/08/87)

This may seem like a silly question (I feel silly asking ...)
- how do I quit uwm? (started up by `xinit uwm' - This is on a Sun)

I've gone through the man page, and it doesn't mention a
f.quit or anything like that. X doesn't mention anything of the sort.
Is there an elegant way to do it?

With versions of uwm up to and including X10 Release 4, you must
explicitly kill uwm with kill(1). Many people are running a version
of uwm which contains an "f.exit" function. Hacking that into uwm
is left as an exercise for the reader.

Incidentally, before killing your window manager, be sure that doing so
will leave you with a place to type...
