I recently wrote an application which causes my X server (X.V10R4+update Xsun) to grow in size. The application basically loops with the following construct: loop DestroySubwindows CreateWindows (over 32) MapSubwindows pool If I remove the MapSubwindows then the server nolonger grows (but then my application doesn't do anything interesting either...) Ed James complained about memory bug on Jan 27 which I think he made occure by using XMoveArea. I am not sure if these two bugs are related. Anyone out there run accross this (and a fix)? Oh, very few of the subwindows overlap. -Paul R Borman Cray Research, Inc. prb@umn-rei-uc.arpa (In case you are curious, the application gives a graphical view of physical memory with a subwindow for each process on a CRAY 2. Yes, processes are contiguous in memory, no paging) Oh yeah, The lawyers want me to say "CRAY is a registered trade mark of Cray Research, Inc." or something like that.
