One thing I would like to see discussed is some plan for news distribution backup in the event of some node failure. The case for leaf nodes (or mostly leaf nodes) is relatively simple: use the buddy system. Each node would have two feed sources, their primary source and a backup source. If their primary source went out of service, they would just start getting news from the backup source. This requires zero central planning (and agreement). The case of more central nodes (such as decvax) requires more thought. Any ideas? - Alan S. Watt ([decvax!]ittvax!swatt)
