The University of Arizona CS Department would like to join Usenet and is in search of a site they (we) can poll for netnews. We would like to start off with only a few newsgroups, but will eventually want to get net.all and fa.all. Our 300-1200 dialer is currently semi-disfunctional and only works at 300 baud, but should be fixed "soon", giving us 1200 baud dialout. It appears that the rates we pay for long distance phone calls are somewhat distance independent, so physical proximity is not a large concern. We have B news (v2.9) up on all our machines here, the machine that will handle the polling will be a Vax-11/780. If your site has any interest in adopting us, please get in touch with me.
