You know, it appears to me that rarely, if ever, is a *followup* article ever posted to net.followup. It appears that the followup is always posted to the group where it originated (as it was in earlier releases of B news). After noticing this trend, and examining my own opinion, it appears that, perhaps, we should revert back to the "followup in the same newsgroup" scheme. This makes some sense, as thoughts tend to be grouped a little better when they are maintained in the same newsgroup. I dunno, I just find myself typing `!postnews' rather than `f' when something strikes me as followuppable. What say ye, O comrades? Randy King ..we13!rjk

Gack! Is THAT why there are so many fresh titles appearing in discussions? People are doing !postnews? Ick! The intent of net.followup is that it is for followups to net.general. Followups to other newsgroups go to the same newsgroup. This is what the code does, and most people seem to abide by this. But in trying to avoid the "creation vs evolution" debate, I keep adding new titles to my mental list of things to avoid. Please DO use the f command for followups! Mark
