I have heard that NSF is funding the development of a window-based, distributed document handling and text processing system which contains a WYSIWIG editor and has graphics handling and outputting capabilities. Supposedly the system is called the diamond system and a lot of the work is being done at BBN. I would be most grateful if someone could write and tell me who to contact to find out more about thhe cu>d lpt

Right. The program is called EXPRES and its Program Director is Dr. Alvin Thaler; you can get a more complete description from <athaler@note.nsf.gov>. > Supposedly the system is called the diamond system and > a lot of the work is being done at BBN. Not quite. BBN is under contract to the University of Michigan, one of the two EXPRES awardees. BBN has been developing the Diamond Multi-Media Mail System for some time under other sponsorship and it is being used in EXPRES as a start-up component. But Diamond is NOT EXPRES, and EXPRES is NOT Diamond.
