Some time ago someone made available a program "xback" for putting
up large bitmap images as one's X background. (My apologies to the author
for not giving credit--I can't seem to find the article anywhere even after
searching through our news directories.) Subsequently David C. Martin
provided a hack to xsetroot which allowed it to use arbitrary-sized bitmaps.
I've gotten these to work on our Suns and HPs, but with the recent talk about
this stuff on this newsgroup I was wondering what the current "state-of-the-
art" is in fancy X backgrounds. What are people using? I would be interested
in getting e-mail from anyone who has more information on this subject.
