For the terminally curious, the X11 beta test protocol specification and Xlib manual are available via anonymous ftp from zap.mit.edu. Please, PLEASE, do not ask us to mail you copies. We are already swamped with too much work. If you cannot ftp, find a friend who can.

I can anonymous ftp, but we in the Arpanet backwoods get effective transfer rates of typically 120 cps and I can't afford the time it would take to ftp the huge Xlib docs. One of the .PS files is over 1 MByte and the .ms file is over 700 KBytes. Can you/someone run them through "compress"?
