[comp.windows.x] xstuff on hoser

mrose@GREMLIN.NRTC.NORTHROP.COM (Marshall Rose) (07/03/87)

Hi. After getting a few requests, I've copied the xstuff archive
from gremlin (my machine) to hoser.berkeley.edu. There are two
    files:

	mtr.tar.Z

which is a compressed tar image of the

	mtr/

directory. Be kind to the ARPAnet and retreive the .Z file. To
briefly re-cap the contents of this:

bitimp/ - a generic bitmap to imPress facility supporting X, IS,
SUN, and MAC window dumps. there's also an xipr script which does
    the obvious thing.

image/ - the isode image service. This supports the face agent and
xwho. The face agent is a program run by MH when you show a
message. It paints the face of the person in the From: field.
xwho is like rwho but paints faces instead of user names.
Obviously you need to have an images database in order to use this.

    max/ - a programmable directory browser.

    scripts/ - miscellaneous X scripts I use.

    xadvise/ - puts a string on the ``status line''.

    xdvi/ - a bunch of mods/fixes to the X dvi previewer.

    xsize/ - arbitrarily resize an X window.

xswt/ - set window title under xterm.

xtbit/ - X bitmap window dump to TeX using \special commands. You
need to have the right dvi driver to support this. The mods to xdvi
    support this.

xuseti/ - stand-alone useto for X. Sort of like sysline.

Have fun.
