If I say xdemo balls or indeed specify any of the demos, all I get is the message file or directory not found Am I missing some files, or what? The only things with "demo" in their pathname are man/xdemo.1 xdemo/*.clu xdemo/xdemo.xload xdemo/xdemo.xfile exe.v10/xdemo (It would be nice to get this going, to redeem myself after offering to show somebody the nice demos that came with X, adn looking a complete nit). Thanks, Niall ps: I'm using the v10r4 release, on a Sun-3.

Don't ask me why since I don't know anything about CLU (which is what xdemo is written in) but thanks to Stuart (smarks@sun.com) for providing me with the answer when I tried to run it. (HOSTNAME is the name of machine on which X server is running). The problem is that xdemo does not like a display specified as 'unix:0', even though other X programs do. -- Robert Gibb decvax!utzoo!dciem!nrcaer!cognos!bgibb Cognos Incorporated 3755 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA K1G 3N3 (613) 738-1440
