I have received several replies to my request for help in unscrambling my Sun keyboard after an unexpected X failure. It appears that setkeys reset will do what I want. Fortunately, I haven't had to test it yet. If you have any other solutions or interesting information about keyboard mapping, I'd like to hear from you. Further notes referring me to setkeys aren't necessary. thanks.
