Is there such a thing as an overlay window available in X11? What I want is a window with a transparent background and an opaque foreground in order to overlay graphics on static backgrounds (which would be underneath the overlay in its own window). -- "Just don't reverse the Kurt Hoyt polarity of the neutron flow."
