Hear, hear!  I wrote to the fellow at Berkeley (who did the xps frob)
asking about this, and he answered "Mit (sic) has lots of real
machines.  As long as you run it from a Vax or a Sun, it can use any X
display." 

If you're going to only provide binaries and you want folks to use 'em,
you should be sporting enough to provide them for machines that people
are using (yes, I'm a person, and YES, I'm using an RT PC!)
