[comp.windows.x] restricting the cursor to a window in X11

amamaral@elrond.CalComp.COM (Alan Amaral) (09/24/87)

I have a couple of implementation questions regarding the process of
restricting the cursor to a window. Should the cursor track around
the boundary of the window if the mouse attempts to move it outside,
or should it just stick to an edge till the mouse reenters the window?
Also, what happens when there are occluding windows? Should
it dissappear under the occluding window, track around the occluding
window, move over the occluding window still bound to the underlying
window, move over the occluding window now UNBOUND, or do something that
I haven't even thought of? I don't have access to a running X11 system
else I'd just try it out myself...

Does anyone have a clue?

Please send mail if possible, as I don't get to read news very often...
