Unfortunately, the files that were included in the clients/emacs directory on the X11R1 distribution tape were NOT ones that were intended for distribution. You will find that they contain many problems, including painfully slow recognition of keystrokes and screen refreshing problems. I have fixed most of the problems and have a new distribution available for those who enjoy exploring the unknown. Please send mail to me DIRECTLY if you want to receive a copy of the files (and you want to send me bug reports :-). When I get them stable enough I will post the new code to the net if necessary.
