[comp.windows.x] Xconq

shebs@utah-cs.UUCP (Stanley Shebs) (10/02/87)

No, this is not to announce a new version of xconq! It is in the middle of a
major rewrite, and won't be ready for several months (I'm supposedly writing
a thesis too). Instead, I'd like to get all possible ideas and suggestions
about both functional and performance enhancements, even the wilder ones,
since now is the right time to include them. One idea *has* been discarded:
emulating X with curses so as to run on normal terminals. Apparently no one
has tried this, there are plenty of problems, and the xconq interface has
been getting more, not less, graphical. An X11 port will happen if we *ever*
get a server for HPs...

For those who haven't got a copy of xconq and would like one, it should still
be available in the comp.sources.games archives.
