[comp.windows.x] /etc/ttys

jonnyg@ROVER.UMD.EDU (Jon Greenblatt) (10/14/87)

I am having trouble configuring my IBM RT/PC /etc/ttys file for X11.
I noticed xterm wants to open the file /etc/tonsole so I created this using
mknod and to make it look like /dev/console. I get an Error 12 after this
change, looking through the xterm source Error 12 is a ttyslot open error. My
/etc/ttys entry is the following:

console "/usr/new/xterm -C -L -n console =80x50+1+1 -sb -rv -fn 9x15 -sl 500 :0
" xterm on secure window="/usr/new/Xapa16 0 -c -l"

I split this into two lines but it exits as one in my ttys file.

Can anybody tell me what I left out?
