As to window properties, I set the minimum and maximum size (program specified) for both "normal" and "zoomed" size, and the program name. I am silent on everything else. The flashing definitely happens under uwm -- specifically, I see both windows disappear, followed by the first window being remapped where it was to begin with and reexposed. However, the attempt to remap the second window causes uwm to freeze (no one seems to have the input focus and moving the mouse into another window has no visible effect). I did not run this experiment many times to see how overlapping of various windows had any effect on the outcome. I am using the uwm that came on the released tape, and (the last time I ran this test), an IBM server of about a month ago, i.e., 3 ibm servers ago. I have not tried this under either a Sun or Vax server. -Mark
