I am ready to release for beta testing a protocol translator which has been under development for about 6 months. Here is a quick overview: This is not "X10 in a window". It implements the entire X10 protocol on behalf of X10 clients so that each X10 client looks like an X11 client to other X11 clients, and each X11 client looks like an X10 client to other X10 clients. There are still bugs, but all are very subtle, and most cannot be noticed in screen output without looking carefully; a few are fatal. Performance cost is about 22% for xterm scrolling. I am looking for a few sites that have sophisticated x10 clients that can be tested on monochrome and perhaps color. So far, the basic X10 clients have been tested plus a WYSISYG system and a Tek proprietary terminal emulator. Mail to me directly. --------------- Usenet: {ucbvax,decvax,allegra,uw-beaver,hplabs}!tektronix!crl!toddb {CS,ARPA}net: toddb%crl.tek.csnet@relay.cs.net c--Q Q US: Todd Brunhoff; Computer Research Lab; Tektronix, Inc. ` Box 500 MS 50-662, Beaverton OR 97077 - Phone: (503) 627-1121
