Is there a currently available version of X that will run under VMS, specifically for the VAXstation II running MicroVMS version 4.2? Do I deserve to be ruthlessly flamed for what may very well be a naive question? No flames about the hardware, please, I am just doing my job. It's rumored that Xv11 will be a officially distributed by Dec with VMS version 5.0, in about 6 months. (It is indeed remarkable that Dec on the east coast is talking to Dec on the west coast, where X is being written. I'm sure it's a temporary aberration. Of course, the terminals group is still somewhere else entirely.) > Do I deserve to be ruthlessly flamed for what may very well be a naive > question? There's X's (in various states of undress) all over the place. garry wiegand garry@oak.cadif.cornell.edu (arpa) garry@crnlthry (bitnet) ------

Can anyone tell me if there is a version of X windows for VMS? How can I get a copy of it, preferably via anonymous ftp? Please reply to system@larry.mcrcim.mcgill.edu, I do not normally read this newsgroup. Thanks. Cem Eskenazi McGill University Research Centre for Intelligent Machines
