quick question: does anyone know of an implementation of X for
the atari boxes?
also: can an Xserver and an Xclient communicate over a serial
line?

I saw an early demo of X on the Atari ST around August '86. It was still in development and the people were waiting for the release of X11. It was running on top of Idris (the Unix look-alike from Whitesmith. I forget the name of the company ... something like CCS or CSS...they live in Federal Way, Washington (near Seattle). Since the Atari ST has no decent networking to speak of...they were also working on networking.... The demo as I remember just brought up the XClock and a shell ... Charles Ditzel
