We would like to eliminate the current special
processing of ":" to mean a display argument, but will not do this
unless we get a consensus with other Xlib folks and MIT.

You have my vote to eliminate special processing of ":".

We would like a way to specify "don't care" about the state
of individual modifiers in initiating a passive grab.

Great idea, I sure wish you had had it about six months ago.

In order to correctly implement "Mac-style" menu bars, we need
a way of going into synchronous mode on enter or exit window.

Extension proposals welcome.

we don't want or need the map to generate expose events.

Can't you simply deselect Exposure, MapWindow, then reselect Exposure?

Several questions were posed last week about the "legendary release 2".
I would specifically like to know a bit more about the even more
legendary X Toolkit. Will it be "Xtk Release 1", or in some pre-
release form. I understand that the general toolkit philosphy will
not change (not another lib/oldXtk (lib/newoldXtk)), that many bugs
will be fixed, and additional widgets will be included. Anything else?

We would like to begin to write serious and sophisticated applications
(read: products) as soon as possible, so the stability, robustness and
quality of the toolkit should not be in question.

Comments?
