[comp.windows.x] vaxstation screen shifted

I have X V11 R1 on a Vax Station running Ultrix 2.0, and there is a weird
problem.  The right hand inch of the logical screen is not displayed on the
physical screen.  In fact, the black margin around the root window is a lot
wider on the left.

I realize this could be a hardware problem, but I don't know how to prove it to
a DEC repairman.  What could it be?

Any help would be appreciated.
