I obtained a copy of the history file from pyuxjj and discovered
that of the 346 news articles received by pyuxjj during a one
week period, 95 never arrived on spanky! I assume that the prob-
lem is in uucp, but it might also be in the netnews software or
in usend. Anybody know anything about this problem?
One possibility would be to build an acknowledgement capability
into netnews. For example, once a night each system could send
its neighbors a list of articles sent to them over the last 24
hours. The neighbors could then request that articles which they
had not received be resent (using the sendme control message).
If this has been discussed before the article never reached me...
