I tried to print out the 6M+ atkintro.PS document, but it only printed out the title page, followed by one blank page. Has anyone else had this problem? This file is actually composed of 18 smaller files separated by control-D's. A small program suffices to split it into individual pieces, which can then be printed properly. The number of pages in the document is a matter of some conjecture, as indicated in previous postings. By the way, if "The X Window System" people want to keep being picking about having "The X Window System" referred to as "The X Window System" of the official variants thereof, perhaps they can start writing VAX and not Vax in their documents. :-)
