Several people have asked about the distribution lists pertaining to the Andrew Toolkit and associated products - I hope this will answer those questions. Adam Stoller Andrew Message System Group <ghoti+@andrew.cmu.edu> ---------------- In an effort to provide better service to recipients of the Andrew distribution from MIT, we have decided to reorganize our mailing lists. We believe that this reorganization will allow us to keep better track of requests and bug reports and to respond more rapidly to problems. There will now be only two mailing lists, as follows: info-andrew@andrew.cmu.edu ========================== This will be an informal mailing list intended for general discussion by recipients of the Andrew distribution and implementors of Andrew, including (but not limited to): - hints about using/building Andrew - discussions about desired features, changes, etc. - comments about the Andrew distribution (e.g., "it stinks", "it's great") - questions about the availability/existence of other parts of Andrew All incoming posts will be distributed to all the subscribers. We hope to have some form of archiving system for the posts set up within the next few weeks, but at this time no archives are available. info-andrew-bugs@andrew.cmu.edu =============================== This will be a mailing list for reporting bugs/problems with the Andrew distribution. This includes: - problems discovered in building the distribution - problems discovered in running parts of the distribution - questions about difficulties encountered (even if you're not sure they're bugs) Official responses to queries and bug reports will be posted to this mailing list. This will be moderated, so that all bugs can be tracked and referenced with patch files. We expect that posts will go out to the subscribers about once a week, summarizing those reports which have been fixed and those still being looked into. We hope to have some form of archiving system for the posts set up within the next few weeks, but at this time no archives are available. If you were on one of the original mailing lists that were set up for this purpose - you have probably already received this notification - and your name has been transfered to both of the new distribution lists.
