[comp.windows.x] Problem compiling lib/Xt & lib/Xaw: VAX 4.3bsd

salzman@garfield.RDL.COM (Gumby) (04/03/88)

This system *must* have a brain-damaged C compiler. Has anyone seen
this error message when compiling lib/Xt and lib/Xaw (XV11R2) on a
VAX (11/780) running 4.3bsd? (Incidentally, this is Mt. Xinu's
distribution of 4.3):

making Xt
rm -f Alloc.o
cc -c -O -I. -I./../../lib/X -I./../.. -I./../../X11 Alloc.c
rm -f ArgList.o
cc -c -O -I. -I./../../lib/X -I./../.. -I./../../X11 ArgList.c
rm -f Callback.o
cc -c -O -I. -I./../../lib/X -I./../.. -I./../../X11 Callback.c
rm -f Composite.o
cc -c -O -I. -I./../../lib/X -I./../.. -I./../../X11 Composite.c

This happens all over the place. These errors are generated on definitions
of "XtInherit*".... All this stuff compiled on a Sun 3, Sun 4, and
VAXStation-II GPX (Ultrix 2.2) with no problems!! Arrgghhh!!!!!!
