I have been seeing a problem with the X11R2 xterm when running with my window manager (twm). When xterm gets input focus it darkens its border and the cursor becomes solid, rather than hollow. Well that works fine when no window manager is running or when uwm is running. The thing I'm seeing is that "after a while", 2-10 times moving the mouse in and out of the xterm window, the cursor stays filled and never goes hollow again when the mouse moves out of the window. This problem only effects the cursor, the border of the xterm window still turns grey and then black when the mouse leaves and enters the window. Twm puts up a "frame" window surrounding the xterm window so I get a title bar. It detects Enter and Leave notify events on the frame window and calls XSetInputFocus on the xterm window and on the root window when the mouse enters and leaves the frame. I can see that this call to XSetInputFocus is the only real difference between running twm and running uwm or no window manager. The X11R1 xterm does not show this problem. Do I need to do more than just XSetInputFocus, or could there be a problem lurking someplace else? If anyone has clues to a solution for this problem I would be most appreciative. -- Tom LaStrange Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation UUCP Address: {ihnp4,seismo}!utah-cs!utah-gr!uplherc!esunix!tlastran Alternate: {ihnp4,decvax}!decwrl!esunix!tlastran
