I am considering X window for my application written in Pascal
running on a 680X0 processor with UNIX ( SUN 4.2 or System V ).
I would appreciate if some one can give me some suggestions,
answers, and opinions about using X window. I would like to know
in particular whether it is possible and/or difficult to do
the followings:
- having one main window for user inputs; one window of items
which users can select from and copy to the main window; and
one command window (command bar) that controls the whole
screen ( or application ).
- switch control from one window to another without a mouse.
- any tutorial document, examples, or toolkit on how to do
the above.
- how much effort, in terms of man hours, to install and maintain
the X window system periodically.
