I agree wholeheartedly that net.usoft.emacs is where net.emacs belongs, but moving newsgroups is a painful process. There must be a concerted effort on EVERYONE'S part to submit to the new group and not to the old. Look at net.trivia -- it still pops up occasionally, even though it was renamed to net.games.trivia

net.usoft.emacs is 15 characters, and doesn't allow for subgroups for the different Emaces (Gosling, CCA, various Bell, etc) if they are ever needed. Howcum nobody suggested this last month when the group was created? John Gilmore, Sun Microsystems
