Well, I got about 20 replies about this, all of them an enthusiastic "YES!". What with all of the talk lately about cutting down on the number of underpopulated newgroups, this sounds kind of small. However, the enthusiam seems to indicate the other way. Is there some other newsgroup under which the new group could be subsumed, thereby avoiding the problem cited by many readers, that their .newsrc file can't handle excluding that many groups? I am generally of the opinion that groups should exist even if the numbers are small, and that they should not be purged due to inactivity. Rather, such a newsgroup forms a point of focus for newcomers who happen to be interested in whatever. We may be low in numbers now, but where will RT-11 people turn when they are new to the net, and we're not there? (Did I blow it? Is this the right place for this? Or should this have gone to net.news.group?) Anyhow, we RT-11 types would mightily appreciate it if anyone could come up with a way for this group to be born without blowing people out of the water. -- Kenn
