Is anyone wokring on (or knows of someone else working on) an Ada language binding for X (oh excuse mee!, ahem.. for The X Window System)? thanks. -jrg Everything I say is the precise view of my employer but, has not the slightes thing to do with Apple Computer Corp.

I'm passing on this information from someone else, so disassociate me from this posting: ==== John, Contact Steve Hyland at SAIC in San Diego. He has the STARS foundation contract to develop the Ada bindings for X. He can be reached at (619) 458-2656. I have worked with him by testing preliminary versions of the bindings for the X library and the HP Xtoolkit on using the HP Ada compiler. He should be able to sent you a copy of both the X10 and X11 versions of the bindings. The bad news is that he is swamped with requests and is slow to send tapes, unless you send him a blank first. The good news is that he did develop them using the Alsys compiler (which HP has modified and productized to run under HP-UX) and I can report that Steve's Ada X bindings work well with the Alsys Ada compiler on the Sun, Alsys Ada compiler and the HP Ada/300 compilers on the HP 300 series......... ==== Hope this helps. --scu shankar%hpclscu@hplabs.HP.COM ====== Disclaimer: The opinions expressed herein are my own and so on and so forth...
