I have the case where I have the X server running on an Apollo and am running the clients elsewhere (a MIPS M1000 in case it makes a difference). The version of X I'm using is 11R2 right from the carton, meaning the only changes I've made have been to 'Makefiles' to get the server to compile. Running monochrome seems to work just fine, I'm posting from it now, but there seems to be no way to get the server to use color. I start the server with the command: /usr/bin/X11/Xapollo -D1 d4 with the belief that it should allow my DN660 to use 4 planes for color. But I never seem to get any color. I assume this is a server problem. For more reference my Apollo is running SR9.6 with all suitable TCP/IP changes installed. I would greatly appreciate help from anyone that can show me the error of my ways and bring some color into my life.
