I haven't seen this talked about yet, but this is getting annoying. How can I turn off the alternate screen capability? Every time I enter an application that uses curses mode, when it exits, the screen is restored to what it looked like before I ran the application. Since my pager is "less" when I "man short-entry" then it appears and suddenly disappears (I end up typing "man short-entry | cat"); There are numerous examples similar to this, but I think the point has been made. My second problem may be with the termcap entry for xterm. When I use vi and a line happens to wrap at the 80th column, the terminal is in a very confusing state. The line wraps, but gunk is left all over the screen -- lines appear to be where they aren't and nothing appears to be where lines are, etc... I have mucked with the window attributes such as lone wrap and so on that appear with the xterm pulldown, but nothing seems to fix this problem. Can someone offer helpful pointers? ...dan
