[comp.windows.x] awm beta release

jkh@VIOLET.BERKELEY.EDU (Jordan K. Hubbard) (04/20/88)

The beta release for awm is available from anonymous ftp on
ucbvax.berkeley.edu (pub/awm.tar.Z). Please do not take this release
if you are an end user, this is a beta release targeted toward
X developers who will be able to understand (and potentially track)
any bugs that may (and probably will) exist in this software.

The limitation on window/icon contexts usurping others has been
removed (if you read the man page posted awhile back) and the
man page has been cleaned up. There's also a mechanism for
determining which windows are titled. It is suggested that you read
the man page again. There are also README and CHANGES files to
read, for what they're worth.

Please let me know if you have any trouble (if you're a beta-tester)
obtaining this release.

Thank you.

Due to the fact that my source tree has been sitting on a system
V machine (through the wonders of NFS), I didn't catch an error
with the naming of menus/rtlmenu.option.h. It should be called
menus/rtlmenu.options.h.

I've since gone through and renamed everything > 14 chars.

System V. You gotta love it. You have no choice.
