The X11 manual pages make repeated reference to "your X startup file" or "your X startup script" (qv. xsetroot, xrdb). Can someone tell me what these references mean? Do they simply refer to a shell script that one might manually run after starting the server and xterm, or does X contain some (poorly-documented) provision for processing a startup script upon startup? phil fernandez Stanford University Medical School philf@med-isg.stanford.edu
