Help! I'm considering how an X server should behave when given, instead of the garden varity mouse, a data tablet. A few issues come to mind: - are physical x,y data tablet points meant to be forced into the server in order to place the cursor EXACTLY where the tablet says, or does the pointer start out in mid screen, and move with the same acceleration behavior as a mouse? - what good is a tablet :) if the behavior is just like a mouse? - if the data tablet should be treated literally, meaning locate the cursor exactly as represented by the tablet, what does acceleration, etc, mean? Nothing? How can a client effect those - it can't. - a client warps the pointer; does it warp right back to the physical absolute location specified by the tablet crosshairs, or not? If the tablet is only a translation device, I guess not. If the tablet is being used to map absolute points (maybe a client is digitizing data) then the pointer must bounce-back? ugh. - do I need a little hand which reaches out to move the tablet puck to where the cursor was warped? :) ...{harvard, decvax}!elrond!jam or jam@elrond.CalComp.COM 603-885-8139 in New Hampshire - Live Free Or Die -- ...{harvard, decvax}!elrond!jam or jam@elrond.CalComp.COM 603-885-8139 in New Hampshire - Live Free Or Die
