Does anyone know of problems getting X10 and X11 to coexist on a TCP/IP network? We are running a hetrogeneous environment (Vaxen running Ultrix and System V, microvaxen, Tektronix and HP systems, some 3b2's maybe a Sun or two, you get the idea). Some of these systems are running X10 and others will (very soon) be running X11. I am interested in any known or antcipated problems that may be encountered. Responses here or via direct mail are appreciated. There should be no problems whatsoever (X10 and X11 listen on different ports). We specifically packaged R2 so that it and X10 could reside on the same machine without conflict. There is also a protocol translator that can be used to run X10 binaries with an X11 server (it is an X10 server that converts X10 requests to calls to X11 Xlib calls and X11 events to X10 events). If anyone does have problems, xbugs@expo.lcs.mit.edu would very much like to hear about it. Jim Fulton X Consortium MIT Laboratory for Computer Science (617) 253-1428 jim@EXPO.LCS.MIT.EDU
