Has anyone run the sun X11 R2 server under SunOS 4.0 ?? I just got it and I'm debating whether to install it or not. Thanks, Dean Grover Hughes Aircraft grover%sunny.hac.com@usc-oberon.usc.edu

We have had X11 R2 running on a Sun 3/60C under SunOS 4.0Beta1 for a couple of weeks now. It works about the same as a Sun under SunOS 3.x (although I strongly urge you to install all of the fixes, especially #23). I suggest you go for it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark D. Baushke Internet: mdb%silvlis.com@sun.com Silvar-Lisco, Inc. It works fine on a sun4. If you're using a sun3 don't compile with the high optimization settings, as things will break. If you're using a sun4 compile lib/Xt/TMparse.c with -O1; other things (including the server) will work compiled -O4. By using dynamic libraries for Xlib and Xt I reduced the size of /usr/bin/X11 by about 40%, although some nasty Imake hacking was required to get this to happen automagically. -- John -------- Your message: Has anyone run the sun X11 R2 server under SunOS 4.0 ??
