I'm trying to run the P.D. X server on a color sun and use the color and monochrome planes as separate screens. I've seen a couple of references to this in this group ( newton@cit-vax.caltech.edu and tek@cs.ucla.edu ) but haven't been able to get things to work myself. Exactly what devices related to the display have to be present in the '/dev' directory? Does the sun command 'adjacentscreens' play any part here, it sounds like the switching mechanism is similar, but adjacentscreens claims to be sunview only. Do any other magic processes need to be running for things to work? my symptoms are that things come up just fine on the color planes, but uwm and xterm memory fault (only uwm with a core dump) when I try to start either of them using '-display unix:0.1' I'm only running one server, which I think is correct from the things I've been reading here. thanks for any advice you can give... -- Mike Rosenlof SAE (303)447-2861 2190 Miller Drive stan!landru@boulder.edu Longmont Colorado landru@stan.uucp 80501 ...hao!boulder!stan!landru
