[was there ever really a line eater, or is it an urban myth?] Scenario: Sun 3/260, hi-res monitor, SunOS 3.5, X11 I got the latest version of 'twm', and got it running, after a false start with a backleveled Xlib. Now everything seems to be running OK, except for two things: (1) The 'xman' program gets its pop-up menus parked in the wrong place. They should appear near where the pointer transits the top bar. In fact, they appear on the right side of the screen, half-on and half-off. The vertical placement seems to be random. Each menu shows up someplace different on the right-hand side. (2) The 'xrn' program has several problems. First of all, twm fails to put a title bar on it. Secondly, and more importantly, it seems to lose keyboard focus. When 'xrn' is looking for keyboard input, it seems that anything typed goes straight to the bit-bucket. The characters never show in the 'xrn' window, nor do any OTHER windows seem to see them. I suspect the 'xrn' problem is a conflict between 'twm' and 'x10tox11', which is needed by 'xrn' (as it's an X10 program). I have NO clues about the 'xman' problem. Both programs work just fine when running the 'uwm' window manager. Anybody got any ideas? Valdis Kletnieks Systems Programmer Clarkson University
